Marjorie (Blahnik) Bake, 86 of Oconto passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 17, 2012. Marjorie was born on April 3, 1925 in Lena to Clarence and Marie (Valley) Blahnik. She graduated from Lena High School in 1943. During the war she worked at a defense plant machine shop. She also worked as a clerk at Northern Paper Company, and was the bookkeeper for the family business Bake Brothers Buick, Olds and GMC dealership.One memorable and exciting moment for her was a hole-in-one at the Oconto Golf Course on August 23, 1996, where she golfed regularly with her friends in the ladies golf league. In addition to golfing, she enjoyed playing bridge, reading, gardening, solving all the puzzles in the daily newspaper, and following the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and Oconto Blue Devils.Marjorie is survived by her six children Mike (Patsy) Bake, Oconto; Jackie Bake, Oconto Falls; Christy (LeRoy) Rausch, Park Rapids, MN; Carol (Mark) Matenaer, West Bend; Jon (Jennifer) Bake, DePere; Teresa (Doug) Riemer, DePere; eleven grandchildren Billy and Jon Bake, Lauren (Mark) Resch, Jocelyn and Stephanie Gerndt, Nathan and Megan Rausch, Kyle and Ryan Matenaer, Shelby and Erin Bake, her brother and sister-in-law Dr. Clarence �Gus� and Marie Blahnik, sisters-in-law Patricia Bake and Judy Hanes, and brothers-in-law Hollis Hanes and Gerald Weigelt. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Bill Bake, her parents, Clarence and Marie Blahnik, her sister Marion and brother-in-law George Glime; her sister Esther (Sister Angele Marie, SSND); brothers-in-law, Patrick, Douglas, Thomas and Robert Bake; sisters-in-law, Margaret Bake; nephews, Bob Blahnik, Joe Glime and Roger Glime, and a great-niece, Stacey Vorpahl.The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto, from 9 AM to 12 Noon Friday, March 23, 2012. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 12 Noon Friday at the church with the Rev. Joel Sember officiating. Burial of Bill and Marjorie Bake will be at the Oconto Catholic Cemetery. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, is assisting the family. Glime, George J. George J. Glime, 87, Lena, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009, with his family at his side at Sharpe Care Ltd., Oconto Falls. He was born to the late Jule and Mary (Janquardt) Glime on Oct. 11, 1921, in Lena.George married the former Marion Blahnik on June 13, 1946, at St. Charles Catholic Church, Lena.George and Marion took over the family farm and operated it their whole lives.Marion preceded George in death on Nov. 5, 2005.He was a Longshoreman for Leicht's Transfer and Storage of Green Bay, and a member of the Board of Directors for Oconto Electric Cooperative for many years.George was also a member of The Catholic Order of Foresters and a member of St. Anne Catholic Church (formerly Holy Cross), where he served as a server for many years.George enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, playing cards and especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends.Trips to his cabin at Silver Cliff were also one of his favorite things to do.Survivors include nine children, Russell Glime, Lena; Robert (Sandra) Glime, Green Bay; Mary (Kenneth) Koslowsky, Coleman; Barbara (Gary) Vorpahl, Fort Atkinson; Thomas (Patricia) Glime, Suamico; Richard (Mary Ann) Glime, Lena; David (Colleen) Glime, Peshtigo; Julie (Douglas) Aubry, Lena; Joseph (DeAnne) Glime, Florida; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Kinziger, Niagra; and one brother, Julius (Cleo) Glime, Fence, Wis.George was preceded in death by one son, Roger; one granddaughter, Stacey Vorpahl; two brothers, Harry and Alvin; three sisters, Laura DeCleene, Clara Svejda and Julie Herlache.Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena, Tuesday, April 28, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish Wake Service 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Wednesday from 9 to 10:15 a.m.The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne Parish, Lena (formerly Holy Cross), at 10:30 a.m. with Father Celestine Byekwaso officiating.
