Farmer and Mayor in SmrzoviceBefore 1785, (XII3) Martin, the son of (XI1) Vaclav Blahnik who was the cottager from 'Blahniky' along with his wife, Marketa who was from Smrzovice, married Katerina Votruba, daughter of Jakub Votruba, the farmer and mayor in Smrzovice. Martin became to be the founder of the branch of the Blahnik family living still in house #16, which is built on the lot located. on the yard of house #17--'u Votruba.' This branch of the Blahnik family is still living there today.
My records show that Joseph Kalcik, Sr married Mary Kostka. Mary Kostka was a daughter of Matthew and Anna (Hruska) Kostka and a sister of Anna Kostka who married Thomas Blahnik. Thomas and Anna Blahnik were my maternal Grandparents. (I guarantee nothing but this was confirmed by Emmanuel "Manny" Holub (21 Oct. 1919 - 24 Jan. 2001) my records show that Manny married Ruth Pautz 20 Nov. 1941). Info that I got from Manny showed a sister Erma Marie. There is some confusion maybe with your help we can straight it out. Bob Blahnik 11/8/2002
