Michael Paplham, 58, Kewaunee, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center following a farm accident.He was born May 6, 1951, in Kewaunee, to the late Melvin and Anne (Seidl) Paplham.
He attended Holy Rosary Grade School and graduated from Kewaunee High School with the Class of 1969.
Mike married Sherry Langer, Dec. 19, 1986, at Holy Rosary Church in Kewaunee.
He was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church. Mike was a fourth generation farmer of the original Paplham Century Farm. He also owned and operated Paplham Livestock Trucking along with Pete Cherovsky. Mike and Sherry donated part of their land to the Heritage Farm, and he was a very active volunteer.
Mike was a devoted husband and father who cherished his children more than anything; they were his pride and joy. He was dedicated to his wife and family and will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry; one daughter, Jackie Paplham, one son, Kevin Paplham, both at home; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jim and Jane Paplham, Dick and Becky Paplham, Mark Paplham (special friend, Pam), all of Kewaunee; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Marge and Phil Zinn, Melva Kumbalek, both of Two Rivers; Mary and Tom Ferry, Pilsen; Barb and Mark Schroeder, Kewaunee; mother-in-law and father-in-law, James and Mary Alyce Langer, Kewaunee; one sister-in-law, Debbie Langer (special friend, Dave Dworak); two brothers-in-law, Jim Langer Jr. and Steve (Kelly) Langer, both of Kewaunee; his God Parents, Quentin and Mary Reinke, Green Bay; and 19 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by twin sons, Scott and Brian Paplham and a sister, Nancy Paplham.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee. A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Monday until 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee with Fr. Larry Seidl, Mike's cousin, officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Mike's memory.
The family would like to thank the Carlton First Responders and Fire Department, the Kewaunee Ambulance Service, the Kewaunee County Sheriff Department, and neighbors and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.
