Halada, Jacob (Jake) J. Jacob (Jake) J. Halada, 74, Green Bay, Wis., died peacefully at his home Sunday morning, April 13, 2008, with his family at his side. Jake was born Jan. 14, 1934, in New Denmark. He was the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Blahnik) Halada. Jake was a graduate of Denmark High School � the Class of 1952. On Sept. 14, 1957, Jake married the former Henrietta Mathu at Saint Hubert Catholic Church in Sugarbush. Jake and Henrietta have been members of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church for the past 50 years. Jake was a Communion Distributor and enjoyed helping at Westcare Terrace, NEW Community Shelter and doing volunteer work at St. Philip's. Jake worked for the city of Green Bay for 25 years. Jake had many interests, golfing, fishing, traveling, snowmobiling and maintaining small engines and farm equipment for the family. He enjoyed his family and was a great Dad and Grandpa. He is survived by his wife, Henrietta; son, Chris Halada; his precious grandsons, Adam and Michael. He is further survived by the mother of his grandsons, Mary Halada. Also surviving are his sister, Donna Trachte; sister-in-law, Agnes Andrastek; mother-in-law, Josephine Mathu; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter and Pat Mathu, Al and Rita Mathu, Joanne Zellner, Colette and Jerry Seidl, Sharon and Neil Du Jardin, Jim and Mary Mathu, Jean Jensen, John and Mary Ann Leroy, Bernard and Pat Pigeon, Francis and Donna Paque; very special friends, Joan, Dick, Maria and Alex Nocenti; and many nieces and nephews. Jake was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jim Trachte; brother, Roger Andrastek; sister and brother-in-law, Gertrude and Alois Dellemann; mother and father-in-law, Peter J. and Evelyn (Tasquin) Mathu. Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 312 Victoria St., from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dave Pleier and Rev. Walter Stumpf concelebrating. Entombment in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be sent to the Halada family at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, a Memorial Fund has been established in Jake's name.
