Posted October 13, 2007Richard R. 'Dick' Hamachek Richard R. "Dick" Hamachek, age 64, of 2337 43rd St., Two Rivers, died on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 11, 2007, at the Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay, with his family at his side. Dick was born on Nov. 26, 1942, in California, a son of Eileen (Worachek) Hamachek and the late Richard Hamachek. He attended schools in Kewaunee, graduating from Kewaunee High School, with the class of 1960. Richard married the former Janice Borley in 1965, in Casco. She preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 1982. Dick was employed with Paragon Electric Company for many years, until the early 1980's. He then was co-owner/operator of Jerry's Antiques in Two Rivers, for many years. Dick was very active at the Capitol Civic Center, where he helped with the costuming for many plays/productions, including the Masquers, and many of the Roncalli plays. He was also a volunteer at the Washington House in Two Rivers. He loved gardening, birds, and spending time at his cottage with his mother. Dick was a very proud father of six children, which he raised after the death of his wife, at the young age of 37. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Mark Hamachek and Brian and Melissa Hamachek, all of Manitowoc; four daughters and two sons-in-law: Ann Hamachek, Dubuque, Iowa; Jennifer and Calvin Eis, Two Rivers; Kim Fuller, Two Rivers; and Kay and Jason Holz, Prescott; seven grandchildren: Justin Finlan; Janice, Samuel and Ericka Hamachek; Allison Eis; Travis Fuller; and Abby Holz; his mother: Eileen Hamachek, Green Bay; one brother: Paul Hamachek, Green Bay; and two sisters: Sandra Ott, Sturgeon Bay, and MaryKay Hamachek, Green Bay. He is further survived by two brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law and their spouses: Jimmy, Dale, Bev, Judy, Elaine, Jillaine and Nancy; cherished friend for more than 40 years: Jerry Pagel; his beloved pets: Frankie and Pepper; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father; his wife: Janice; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Jim Sustman, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, from 5 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, and after 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, until the time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Washington House of Two Rivers.
