Hi Lori:Thanks for the two emails and your thoughts. I have had a Census check on #89 u Blahniku a couple of years ago. The census does not exist before 1869 and had it done for that year. In that Census only Adam Blahnik and his wife are mentioned and their children. Which doesn't tell me who his father was. I was going to contact Zdenek Blahnik once he is back home and see if he could recommend anyone who would search the records for that Blahnik family. None of my current cousins over there are interested in this. In that 1869 Census two of Adam's children were Wensl and Jan(John) that's why I'm thinking that someone in Wisconsin must be descendants . The birth dates I have for them from the Census don't match the ones I saw in Wisconsin. My other thought is: My ggrandfather Tomas was the oldest oldest son so naturally he would have got the home place. The two younger brothers would have moved somewhere else to work or farm or came across to America so not necessarily they would be from "u Blahniku". We just find it so strange that my grandmother never talked about aunts or uncles and from the census they all lived in that house, before she was born, but still surely the father would have kept in touch with his siblings. Just very strange indeed. I may never find out the rest of the history on that family.Agnes Hallama

Residence: 2009

From Bob Blahnik (TelBobee) 6/18/2013
Thomas G. BakeRed BankThomas G. Bake was born on Oct. 10, 1929 in Oconto, WI and died a peaceful death on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, after a yearlong battle with cancer. A man who touched the hearts and lives of everyone he knew, Tom spent his entire career in the jewelry business. He purchased the former HS Campbell store in Green Bay, WI and transformed it into Bake's of Green Bay, one of the finest jewelry and gift stores in the country. Gifts given in the famous "Bake's Blue Box" brought excitement and joy to thousands of his customers over the years. So great was his passion for beautiful things that Tom continued to work in jewelry industry until 2011 as a sales representative for Henry Dunay and RCM Gioielli.
Mr. Bake is survived by his partner, Michele Scotto di Santolo; daughter, Bridget Fraser; son-in-law, Donald Fraser; granddaughters, Murphy and Molly; sister, Judy (Ronald) Hanes; and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends. He is predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Jean Bake; parents, George and Marie Bake; brothers, Patrick, William, Douglas, and Robert; sister, Margaret; and sister and brother-in-law, Sally and John Rudan.
An avid collector of fine furniture and decorative arts and a passionate supporter of the visual and performing arts, Mr. Bake would ask that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras Foundation. As those who knew him know well, his charm, wit, and generous spirit will be greatly missed. There was no other heart quite like his.
A private memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 16. Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held in Green Bay, WI, followed by a burial at the Oconto Cemetery.
