(August 19, 1912 - August 4, 2009) Mildred Walecka, age 96, formerly of Sleepy Hollow Rd. Kewaunee, a resident of Two Rivers Harmony Living Center, died Monday evening August 3, 2009. Mildred was born in the Town of Casco on August 19, 1912, daughter of Joseph and Emma (Jerabek) Sticka. She attended Slovan Grade School and graduated from Casco High School in 1930. After graduation she worked in Kewaunee at the Haney Residence for eight years. On November 5, 1938 she married Charles Walecka at Holy Trinity Church in Casco. They farmed in the Town of Montpelier until retirement. Charles preceded her in death in June 1983. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, needlework and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mildred is survived by her children: Maynard (Vernelda) Walecka of Kewaunee and Joyce (Duaine) LaPalm of Two Rivers. Her grandchildren: Brian (Jodi) LaPalm of Plover, Sherry (Klaus) Preidt of Madison, Tammy (Daniel) LaPalm of Two Rivers and Randy (Melissa) Walecka of Kewaunee. Her Great-grandchildren: D.J., Adam and Bennett LaPalm and Elizabeth and Brooklyn Walecka. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters and brothers-in-law: Ethel and Earl Opicka and Edna and William Flaherty, a brother and sister-in-law: Elmer and Mary Jane Sticka, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Libbie and William Opicka, Hattie and Herber Mack, ClaraWalecka and Anton Bisely, a niece and nephews: Gladys and Douglas Gaulke and Donald Opicka. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2009 at St. Therese Parish at St. Hedwig site in East Krok with Fr. Dennis Drury officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Krok. The family will greet relatives and friends from 3:00 p.m. To 4:15 p.m. at the church. A funeral lunch will follow the Mass at the church. The family would like to thank Dr. Zenner, Dr. Carroll, Aurora Medical Center, Harmony House of Two Rivers and a special thank you to Mary at Aurora Hospice. More About MILDRED ESTHER STICKA:
