Submitted by Bob BlahnikElaine J. Rickaby, 78, Green Bay was born to eternal life on Thursday, April 26, 2012 after a courageous and dignified battle with Alzheimer's and Dementia. Elaine was born on April 16, 1934 the daughter of the late Albert and Clara (Blahnik) Pelishek. She was a graduate of Denmark High School with the class of 1953. On June 6, 1953 Elaine married Clifford "Bud" Rickaby and the couple enjoyed over 41 years together. Bud preceded her in death on February 15, 1995. She was employed at Pepsi Cola in De Pere for many years. Elaine then worked at Carver Boat in Pulaski as a Supervisor in the Fabrication Department. She loved spending time outside in her vegetable and flower garden and was a regular vendor at the Assumption BVM Garden Stand in Pulaski. In her spare time Elaine loved to knit, crochet and was always interested in reading a good book. Elaine also enjoyed cooking and she provided many wonderful treats for her family and friends. She had a soft spot for animals and never let a stray animal stay out in the cold, for they always had a home with her. Elaine was a caregiver at heart and she assumed a motherly role after the death of her parents and watched over her three brothers.Elaine is survived by her three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Victor Pelishek and his special friend Diane Hardke, Green Bay; Leonard and Phyllis Pelishek, Mountain; Albert "Al" and Rosie Pelishek, Green Bay; Nettie Eiting, De Pere. She is further survived by several Godchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.Gathering of family and friends will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 6397 County Hwy NN in New Denmark. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at church with Fr. Ronald Columbo officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to offer a special thank-you to the staff and friends at Longview Terrace where she had made her home for the past five years for all of their care and compassion. Also, a warm note of appreciation to the staffs of Southern Care Hospice for all of their dignified care shown to Elaine as well as to the Ministry staff of Assumption BVM in Pulaski for all their support through the years.Hansen Family Funeral& Cremation Services
