He studied first secondary school in Pilsen, where he also privately taught piano by Stanislav Barrels . From 1913 to 1915 he continued his studies organ in Prague Conservatory . During the First World War he joined the military service in Hungary as a harpist and accordionist. After his return he completed composing department of the Prague Conservatory in the class of Josef Bohuslav Foerster (1921). His training as a private piano studies at John Herman and composition with Josef Suk and Jaroslav R�dk� . Between 1921-1922 he was employed as an accompanist Theatre in London. The quartet has done foreign travel to Egypt and Spain. He worked as a pianist and bandleader in the hotel orchestras. Some of his songs have achieved international success. During his studies with Josef Suk wrote Suite in Nature (1934), which was performed in Prague (1943), Bucharest, Oslo and Munich. In the competition for Paris TV and radio in 1956 was awarded his song Legend 56th His work as a composer, however, focused primarily in the area of entertainment and dance music.
