Richard was born Nov. 17, 1928, on the family farmstead in the Town of Carlton, Kewaunee County, to the late Charles and Mary Bauer Nuhlicek. He married the former Bernice Nooker on June 19, 1954, in Tisch Mills.Richard ran the family farm where he resided his entire life. He had many other jobs including driving a milk truck, a painter at Hamilton Mfg. and a welder at Hamachek Machine Company. He also operated a sand and gravel business. Richard later converted the barn into a shop where he spent many hours engineering and building his projects, helping all neighbors who needed something fixed and sharing his vast knowledge with his sons.He enjoyed playing his accordion with several local bands and especially liked entertaining with his music to the local nursing homes for the past ten years.Survivors include his wife, Bernice; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Wally Krueger, Appleton; Regina and Gary Brusky, Kewaunee; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Wendy Nuhlicek, Hudson; Dave and Sue Nuhlicek, Kewaunee; five grandchildren, Karen (John) Onderko, Neenah; Jason Krueger, Chicago; Nicole (Damian) Rahmlow, Manitowoc; Heather Nuhlicek, Mishicot; and Brandon (Jadie) Krussow, Minneapolis, Minn. He is further survived by one two-year-old great-grandson, Christian Onderko; one great-granddaughter and great-grandson who will arrive in May; and nieces, nephews and cousins.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his aunts and uncles, Tilly and John Blahnik, Joe and Leona Bauer, Bessie and Leo Engeldinger and Jimmy Bauer.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills, with the Reverend Dennis Drury officiating, assisted by Deacon Robert Pribek. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 So. State St., Mishicot. There will be a parish wake service Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at the funeral home led by Deacon Bob. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church, until the time of service at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.A memorial fund has been established in his name.The Nuhlicek family would like to express a very special thank you to the First Responders and Kewaunee Rescue Squad for their special care shown to Richard and our family. Young, Appleton, peacefully entered eternal life in his 100th year on Monday, January 5, at his home. Elmer was born on May 8, 1909, in Fond du Lac to the late Jerry and Lavina (Balthazador) Young. Elmer, along with he brother George, owned and operated OK Tire on College Avenue for many years. Following his retirement in 1964, he worked for Quella Sign Painting. Elmer loved to dance and Elmer and Eleanor were often out at local dances in the Appleton area. He loved to do Word Search puzzles and liked to have people guess his age! He was often the life of the party, continually telling jokes and wearing goofy hats. Elmer loved life and was a dedicated Catholic attending Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Elmer took great joy in his dogs Benji and Billy.Elmer is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Jentz-Schmieding), who he married in 1985. He will be greatly missed by five step-children: Judy (Pete) Blahnik, Appleton; Dick (Connie) Schmieding, Neenah; John (Debbie) Schmieding, Athens, Ohio; Tom Loden, Phoenix, AZ; and Mary (Jon) Weibel, Naples, FL; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister in law Ethel (Dick) Dreyer, of Naples, FL; his niece Jean (Jake) Biertzer, West Bend, WI; and nephew George (Billie) Young, CA; along with many other nieces and nephews.Elmer was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann, his parents, Jerry and Lavina Young, along with 12 brothers and sisters.A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 9, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 404 W. Lawrence St., with Father Larry Abler officiating. Friends may visit directly at the church Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Elmer's honor to St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Fox Valley Humane Association, or Leaven Food Pantry.The family thanks Asera Hospice Care and Appleton Retirement Community staff for their loving and dedicated care of Elmer during his final days.BrettschneiderTrettin-Lederer

Lenie married William "Bill" Herlache, Jr. on June 9, 1951 at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Green Bay. She was an active member of St. John Cantius Church in Sobieski, the Altar and Rosary Society, Blue Army of Fatima and taught Catechism for many years. Lenie will be remembered for her love of family and church. She enjoyed camping and fishing, gardening, sewing, bird-watching, rock collecting, cooking and reading.She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 52 years, Bill; seven children and spouses: Peter and LouAnn Herlache of Lena; Mary and Jim Beschta of Oconto Falls; Gary and Patti Herlache of Winneconne; Larry Herlache of Crystal, Minnesota; Julie Herlache of Abrams; Beth Herlache of Abrams; Christine and Jon Strnad of Oconto; 17 grandchildren and a great-grandchild and one on the way; two sisters: Vernie Johnvin of Green Bay; Marie Blahnik of Abrams; a brother, Walter Bilquist of Roselawn; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.Preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Paul and Joseph Herlache; a sister, Ruth Demerath; two brothers: Chester Bilquist and an infant brother Carl; and her best friend "Buzzy" Balza.Visitation at WEST MASON MALCORE Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street (499-4100), Sunday from 4:00-8:00 P.M.
