Carol A. Coppersmith, of Menasha, age 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center. She was born July 1, 1941 in Kewaunee, daughter of Edwin and Ruth (Paplham) Cherveny. Carol graduated from Kewaunee High School and attended Lakeshore Technical College. She married Richard Coppersmith Sr. on November 9, 1962, and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1994.Carol was employed with Mirro Aluminum and Shady Lane Nursing Home in Manitowoc, and then with Aurora Medical Center in Milwaukee and Oshkosh. She was a huge Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan. Carol was known for her baking and feeding her friends and coworkers. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Appleton.Survivors include her three children: Debra (Timothy) Jansky, Richard (Laney) Coppersmith Jr., Frank (Tonya) Coppersmith; six grandchildren: Tyler, Chase, Tia, Brooke, Zane and Gage; her mother, Ruth Cherveny; two sisters: Gail (William) Hanmann, Mary Parma; a brother, Jim (Lisa) Cherveny; four brothers and sisters-in-law: John (Marsha) Coppersmith, Jean (Kenny) Sloup, Bob (Ruth) Dahms, Ed Coppersmith.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Coppersmith; her father, Edwin Cherveny; a sister, Sandy Cherveny; a sister-in-law, Patricia Deprey; and three brothers-in-law: Gerald Coppersmith, Robert Coppersmith and David Parma.The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2012 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton, with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. The visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Tisch Mills. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in her name.The family sends a special thank you to the staff of Aurora Medical Center and Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center for all their wonderful care of our mother.
