Obit contributed by Bob Blahnik 3/14/2009Mead, John B. John B. Mead, 48, Ashwaubenon, died at home unexpectedly Thursday morning of a lingering illness. Born in Green Bay. he is the son of Ramona and the late Jack Mead. John is a graduate of Southwest High School, Class of 1979. On May 21, 1983, he married the former Margaret Witte. Years ago John was employed as an electrician at Mead Electric with his Dad, Jack Mead and brother, Steve Mead. During the 1990's John co-owned and operated Mead Lighting on Ashland Avenue. Due to illness John had to retire from full-time employment. He was an avid bowler and past president of the Green Bay � Area Bowling Association. After 20 years of dedication to the bowling association he was inducted into the Green Bay Bowling Hall of Fame. John is an original shareholder of the Green Bay Packers. He is president, board member and shareholder of Crystal Springs Golf Course in Seymour and a lifetime NRA member. He enjoyed skeet shooting, target shooting, darts and horse shoes. John also enjoyed his two feline companions, Lucy and Zoey. Despite his many health challenges John was unwavering in his desire to enjoy life to its fullest with his family and many friends.He is survived by his wife, Margaret Mead; mother, Ramona Mead, Green Bay; siblings, Sandra (Thomas) Prokash, Steven (Marilyn) Mead, Nancy (Thomas) Noth, Kathleen (Keith) Konshak, all of Green Bay; nieces and nephews, Rebecca and James Prokash, Tyler (Sarah) Mead, Heather (William) Schuyler, Jeremy (Julie) Noth; Lisa (James) Willi, Mary Konshak, Bryan (Angela) Konshak; many great-nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jeff (Jill) Witte and their children, Patrick and Nathan, Greg (Beatrice) Witte and their children, Phillip and Jonathan, Karen (Ralph) Papesh and their son, Logan; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donald and Grace Witte, Green Bay; aunts, uncles, and cousins.He was also preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.Friends may call at MALCORE (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Monday visitation will continue at the funeral home until the time of the funeral. Funeral service Monday 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev.
