Services were held Friday at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth for Robert J. Fifrick, 72, a native of Menominee and a resident of St. Germain who died Dec.7 at St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee, where he had been a patient since Oct. 18. The Revs. Mark Voll of St. Germain and Lowell Ferguson of Plymouth officiated. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Plymouth.
Mr. Fifrick was born March 20, 1910. He gradated from Marinette High School in 1928 and from Rehmheld School of Pharmacy, Milwaukee, in 1929. He married the former Velma Schoenfeld July 26, 1941, in Milwaukee.
Mr. Fifrick moved to Plymouth in 1929 and was employed at Ackermann pharmacy, which he later purchased and operated as Fifrick Rexall Drug Store until 1957. He then did pharmacy relief work in the Plymouth area until 1967 when he moved to St. Germain.
He was employed at Woodruff Pharmacy until 1981. Mr. Fifrick has been a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Pymouth and was a member of the church building committee. He had served on the board of trustees of Lakeland College and was a member of the Community United Church of Christ of St. Germain and its building committee.Survivors include his wife; a son, Theodore of Twin Lakes; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald Draheim of Manistee, Mich., and Mrs. James Albers of Middleton; a brother, Dr. Lloyd Fifrick of Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Donald Wade of Temple Terrace, Fla., and six grandchildren. Dr. Lloyd L. Fifrick, 82, of 4302 N. 104th St. Milwaukee, passed away peacefully at his home early Friday morning.
He was born June 10, 1911, in Stiles Junction, Wis., a son of the late Joseph and Erna Spice Fifrick. He graduated from Marinette High School in 1929 and received his bachelor of science degree from Carroll College in Waukesha.
He later received his doctor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1938.
On June 18, 1938, he was married to Evelyn Wittkopp in Plymouth. He interned in Portland, Ore., and served his residency at Deaconess Hospital, Milwaukee.
Dr. Fifrick served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946 as ship's doctor in the Asiatic, Pacific, European and African Middle Eastern Theaters of War, and was awarded two Bronze Stars. He was a past member of the Cudworth American Legion Post in Milwaukee.
For over 40 years, Dr. Fifrick operated his family medical practice in Wauwatosa, and served as medical director of the Wisconsin Lutheran Home and assistant medical director of the Home for Lutheran Aging.
He had been a member of the Mount Calvary, Our Redeemer and Elm Grove Lutheran Churches, and was currently a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa.
He held memberships in the Milwaukee County and Wisconsin State Medical Societies as well as the American Medical Association.
As an avid sportsman, Lloyd was well known for his love of the outdoors, especially as a fisherman and hunter.
Lloyd will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, and for his tender and thorough care of his patients.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; a son, John (Vivian) of Rogersville, Tenn; two daughters, Mrs. Ginny (Bobbie) Haggard of Galveston, Texas, and Ms. Debra Fifrick of Wauwatosa; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Wade of Tampa, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Pat Fifrick of Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister and two brothers, Robert and Orville.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, at North 76th Street and Milwaukee Avenue in Wauwatosa. The Rev. Gary Erickson, pastor, will officiate. Friends may call at the church from 12 noon on Monday until the hour of service.
On Tuesday, services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Revs. Elmer Neitzel and Gary Erickson will officiate, with burial in the Plymough Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wittkopp funeral Home in Plymouth from 1 p.m. on Tuesday until the hour of service. The Plymouth VFW Post will conduct grave side military rites.
Memorial funds will be established in Dr. Fifrick's name.Family links:
