Per the Kewaunee Enterprise 9/17/1880, Anna Sticka died in New Franken, Brown Co. She was described as "Old Mrs. Sticka". It was said she was a veteran beggar and for may years she and her husband John and his other wife (for he had two of them) lived on a farm in Pierce. The younder wife (Johanna Tauscek) kept house while the older one kept the famiy in ready money by tramping around the country. She was found dead in the read. It is believe that a team of horses ran over her.Note: I cannot find any record of John's marriage to Johanna Tausek. In their divorce
papers of 1875, Anna states that she and John never had any children together. Most of
the children are born before 1875 and Anna's obituary states that John had two wives so
possibly John and Johanna were married in Bohemia. However, the ship's manifest, the
divorce papers, and land papers on file show Johanna's name as Tausek not Sticka.
I am aware that the names Sticka and Stika are spelt differently throughout this
paper. There are also other name discrepancies, such as Martha/Margaret,
Theresia/Theresa, etc. I used the spelling as found in documents on file or as printed in
the newspaper.
I am also aware that sometimes dates of births and or marriages are different. I
used whichever date was given on the documents in file and also used the dates as
provided in the newspaper.

Patty RonzaniMary and Joseph's obituaries mention sisters Mrs. Frank and Mrs. Wenzel Svoboda so
upon checking further I found that John Lipsch died 11/9/1913. Recorded in Book 4-270
it shows that Katherine Sticka Lipsch married Wenzel F. Svoboda on 6/3/1918. Wenzel
was 42, a widower. His 1st wife Laura Huber died 4/15/1916. Katherine was 46, a
widow. Her parents were listed as John and Johanna Sticka. It shows the date of her first
marriage as 4/13/1889, not 4/14/1888, as recorded in the county records.Obituary in Kewaunee Enterprise dated 5/16/1957 for Katie (Wenzel) Svoboda shows
she was born in Carlton in 1856. Her 1st husband Joseph Lipsh died several years after
their marriage some 70 years ago. She married Wenzel Svoboda 39 years ago. She is
survived by her stepchildren and two sisters.
