After a courageous ten-year battle with breast cancer, Ana Lisa Tess left her earthly body behind and ascended into Heaven on Wednesday, August 1, 2007, in Austin, Texas. She was 37 years old. Ana was born March 31, 1970, in Dallas, Texas, lived in El Paso for twenty years, and moved to Austin, the city she loved, in 1999. Ana graduated with a B.S. in Education from the University of Texas at El Paso and became an elementary school teacher for six years in El Paso, Texas, and for seven years in Austin, Texas. Many children are greatly blessed to have known and loved her. She is survived by her father, Jerry Tess; step-mother, Charlene Tess; her mother, Ana Nunez; her Godmother, Irma Rubio; her cousin, Noemi Costanzo and family, Nick, Isabella, and Luciana; her grandparents, Agueda and Aniceto Nunez of Fort Stockton, Texas; her grandmother, Vi Tess, of Green Bay Wisconsin, her step-sisters Leigh Bramer and Lisa Black; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be greatly missed by her best friend, Stephanie Cuestas, and her family. A private family memorial service was held outdoors in the Nature Garden at Cook-Walden/Forest Memorial Park in Austin on Sunday, August 12, 2007.
