Rites For Mrs. Froelich Were Held Here Wednesday Afternoon
Mrs. Anton Froelich a resident of Kewaunee County for over 70 years, died at St. Mary's Hospital at Manitowoc last Sunday. She had been a resident and patient at the hospital for the past several months.
Mrs. Froelich whose maiden name was Anna Walecka, was born at Nova Kdyne, Bohemia, in 1857 and was 82 years of age at her death. Her father, Joseph Walecka, came to this country in 1868 and six months later he called his wife and six children to join him. Anna was eleven years old when she came to America. The family settled on a farm near Krok in West Kewaunee.
As a young women she married Anton Froelich, a widower with three small sons, and the family moved to a farm in Montpelier. Mrs. Froelich was a splended helpmate for her husband and was a loving and devoted mother to her stepsons. They worked the farm in Montpelier successfully until several years ago when they retired and moved to a home on Rose street in Kewaunee. Mr. Froelich passed away a few years ago and for the past several months Mrs. Froelich has been cared for at the Manitowoc hospital.
Survivors are the three sons, Joseph of Appleton and George and John at Two Rivers, one sister Frances Schleis of Chicago; one brother, Wenzel Walecka of Montpelier, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Buchanan Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with Mr. B. F. Cmejla conducting the rites and burial was in Riverview cemetery. Mrs. Edna Mashek and Mrs. Charles Cherney sang during the services.
Mrs. Froelich was a splended lady, devoted to her family and kind and helpfulto her neighbors and friends.More About ANNA WALECKA:

Wenzel Walecka
Funeral services were held at St. John's Church at Krok Saturday morning for Wenzel Walecka, long-time resident of Kewaunee County, who died suddenly at his home the Town of Montpelier on December 23.
Despite his 82 years Mr. Walecka had been in excellant health, and attended to business matters in Kewaunee on the day before his death.
He was born near the villiage of Usilova in Bohemia in 1860 and came to this country with his paents at the age of nine yearsd.
Survivors are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. John Jerabek of Norman and Mrs. Sylvester Hruska, Mrs. Edward Marsicek and Mrs. Louis Hruska of Montpelier, and one son Joseph P. Walecka of Montpelier.
The Rev. Cyril Kabat conducted the Mass at St. John's Church Saturday morning and burial was in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers were Joseph and Martin Panosh, Amos Walecka, Joseph Hruska, Quentin Reinke and Leo Jerabek.
Mr. Walecka was one of the county's outstanding pioneer farmers, and his death brings sincere regret to a large circle of friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Agnes Walecka, wife of Ex-county Treasurer John Walecka, Sr. well known and respected pioneer residents of the town of Montpelier,passed away at the home of her son, Mr. And Mrs. Milos Walecka, with whom the old couple were living in retirement, on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Death was due to a goiter, old age and lastly dropsy developed after an illness since March. Born in Bohemia on January 21,1845, Mrs. Walecka nee Agnes Doleysh came with her parents to this country, first settling in the town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County, when after a short residence they removed to the town of Montpelier. In 1868 she was united in marriage to her surviving husband. The ceremony was performed in Holy Rosary Catholic Church in this city there being no churches then in the town of Montpelier. This union was blessed with five children, four of whom survive. They are John Walecka, Jr. of Denmark, Joseph A. Walecka of Montpelier and Mrs. Charles Wachal of Carlton. Besides her husband and children, deceased is also survived by three half sisters and a half brother: Mrs. Mary Marsichek of this city, Mrs. John Ouradnik of Slovan, and Mrs.Petronella Schleis of Tisch Mills and John Kalchik of this city. Funeral services will be conducted this Friday forenoon at ten o'clock at St. John's Catholic church at Krok by Rev. Hodik and the burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Walecka had reached the age of 79 years, 9 months and two days, practically all of her life was spent in the town of Montpelier except four years while the family resided at Dikeman's Mills in West Kewaunee. Mrs. Walecka was one of the early pioneer women and had seen her home town develop into the garden spot of the county from a primitive forest. She was a Christian mother strong in her faith, her life wrapped up in the welfare of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was withal a good mother, a kind neighbor and friend all of whom will rise up and call her blessed.

Rites Today For Denmark Banker
John Walecka, Former Kewauneeite, Died Tuesday; Was Ill One Year
John Walecka, cashier of the Denmark State Bank, and for years with the State Bank of Kewaunee, died at Denmark Tuesday night at 10:30 o'clock. Death occurred at his home, and was attributed to heart disease. Mr. Walecka had been in failing health for the past year, but was seriously ill only two weeks.
The funeral services are to be held this afternoon, Friday, at 1 o'clock from Knudson Funeral home at Denmark. The Rev. W.E. Schilling of Kewaunee will officiate, and the burial is to be in the Riverview cemetery here.
He was born in the town of Montpelier, Kewaunee county, on October 19, 1867. After receiving his elementary education, he enrolled at the Dixon Business college of Dixon, Illinois, where he completed a course, and then came to Kewaunee.
For a period of about eighteen years he held a position with The Duvall Company, local mercantile establishment, and afterward he held a position with the State Bank of Kewaunee for about sixteen years.
When the family moved to Denmark in the year 1921 he took over the position of cashier at the Denmark State Bank, and held that post until the time of his death.
His marriage to Miss Emma Mahlberg took place on September 4, 1894. She survives him with one son, Alois, of Wauwatosa. A daughter, Agnes, died at Madison in January as the result of an automobile accident. There are two brothers, Milos, town clerk of Montpelier, Joseph, also of that town, and one sister, Mrs. Charles Wachal, of Carlton.
The deceased was a widely recognized as a very able business man, and that his ability was fully appreciated is evidenced by the position of public trust which he was chosen for, and which he faithfully discharged. Joseph A. Walecka
Joseph A. Walecka, 74, a prominent town of Montpelier farmer and for 47 years a member of musical organizations,died at his home in Montpelier Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock. He had been ill for months.
The funeral service was held Monday morning in St. John's church at Krok, with interment in St. John's cemetery. Rev. Rudolph Kerch officiated. The pallbearers were Joseph Pribek, Jos. Wavrunek, Emil Schleis, Joseph Skubal, Charles Wachal and Milos Wachal.
He was a lifelong resident of Montpelier, where he was born April 24, 1870. He married Mary Altman in Montpelier in September 1897, and they operated a farm for many years. H served in a number of town offices.
Mr. Walecka was proficient on several musical instruments, and his many years as a musician gave him a wide acquaintanceship in music circles of northeastern Wisconsin. He retired as an active musician six years ago.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. William (Libby) Opicka, towm of Casco; Mrs. Anton (Hattie) Bisely, Kewaunee; one son, Charles, on the home farm; a brother, Milos, of Montpelier; and four grandchildren. One daughter, Clara, died in 1919.More About JOSEPH A. WALECKA:

Mrs. Wachal, the former Anna Walecka, was born in the town of Montpelier April 15, sixty-seven years ago, where she grew to young womanhood. In the year of 1902 she was married to Charles Wachal, a prospective farmer, at Krok, and together they established a fine farm in the town of Carlton. Since the death of Mr. Wachal several years ago, the farm has been operated by their son Charles.
Survivors include two sons, Charles, town of Carlton; Milos, Two Creeks; four daughters Mrs. John Stodola, Pilsen; Mrs. Edward Mastalir, Kewaunee; Mrs. Charles Rogalske, Glendale, Calif., and Miss Marcella Wachal at home.

Milos Walecka
Milos Walecka, 85, Rt2, Kewaunee, died Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
He was born Oct. 26 1882, in the town of Montpelier, the son of the late John and Agnes Kalcheck Walecka and lived all his life in the neighborhood.
He was a dairy farmer. He was a member of Blahnik's Brass Band until five years ago, when it disbanded, was a school teacher for 15 years at Ellisville and High Bluff, and for 35 years was organist at St. John's Church. He was clerk and also chairman of the town of Montpelier.
He married Anna Hruska, Nov. 21, 1917 in St. Mary's of the Angels Catholic Church, Green Bay. She survives him, with 1 daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Sylvia) Lesperance, Rt. 1, Two Rivers, four grandchildren. One sister and 2 brothers preceded him in death.
Buchanan Funeral Chapel had charge of the funeral which was held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. John's Church. Rev. Rudolph Kerch officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. M. Reznichek, Long Time Resident, Dies At Madison
Mrs. Mary Reznichek, 82, of the town of Antigo, died at 7:30 Tuesday night at St. Mary's hospital at Madison, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Reznichek was born Mary Panosh in Kewaunee County on February 24, 1871, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jan Panosh.
On May 12, 1896 she was married to Anton Reznichek at Kewaunee. Following their marriage they came to Antigo where Mr. Reznichek was employed by the Chicago and North Western Railroad until 1908, at which time they moved to the town of Antigo.
Mrs. Reznichek was a member of the Congregational church, a charter member of the Mayflower Women's club and a member of the Z.C.B.J.
Survivors are one daughter, Miss Frances Reznichek at home; three sons, Dr. Cyrus G. Reznichek of Madison, and Anton and George of Antigo.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; one sister, Christina Wolf of Chicago; and two brothers, Martin of Chicago and Louis of Rhinelander.
Her husband, Anton, preceded her in death in 1932. One son, Victor, died in 1913. Four brothers and five sisters also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Congregational church with the Rev. J. Gordon Bennett officiating. Interment will be in the family lot in the Neva cemetery.
Friends may call at the Soman-Bradley funeral chapels from 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon until 11 a.m. Friday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services.

Joseph Panosh, Native of County, Is Dead
Joseph Panosh, 71, a native of the town of Montpelier, died in Chicago Monday evening after a short illness, relatives in the county were advised. The funeral service is to be held in Chicago Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Mr. Panosh went to Chicago when he was a young man and was a mechanic for a fleet of bakery trucks there for many years, retiring three years ago. Surviving are his wife; a son, Joseph, Jr., Chicago; four brothers, Martin, Brookfield, ill.; Ernest and Slavie Panosh, Kewaunee; Louis, Rhinelander; and two sisters, Mrs. Otto Wolff, Cicero, Ill. and Mrs. Mary Reznichek of Antigo.
