C. B. Cmejla Dies SuddenlyAlgoma Alderman for Over 30 Years Suffers Heart Attack at CottageCharles B. Cmejla, 65, a Second ward alderman for 31 years and president of the city counil, was stricken with a fatal heart attack Sunday night.Mr. Cmejla had left the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Detjen to spend the night at his lakeview cottage. When telephone calls were not answered Monday morning, his family became alarmen and asked a neighbor to investigate. Because the body was fully clothed when found, it is believed that death occured at about 10:30 Sunday evening, approximately the time Mr. Cmejla would have arrived at the cottage.Funeral services were held this Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the Haucke Funeral Home. The Rev. F. C. Heimann, pastor of St. Mary's church officiated and burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.Pallbearers were: Frnk Knipfer, Louis Sibilsky, Lester C. Heidmann, X. H. Naze, Otto Krueger and C. G. Wenniger. His fellow aldermen and Mayor J. Mulcolm Empey served as honorary bearers.Was Council President
With only slight interruptions, alderman Cmejla's 31 years as councilman was continous. In addition to serving as president of the council at the time of his death, he was also chairman of the poor and unemployment committee and of the cemetery committee. He was also a member of the street and bridges, hospital and building committee.He spent more than 50 years in the employ of the Algoma Plywood and Veneer company, retiring in August, 1943, because of a heart condition. He had suffeed previous attacks.Mr. Cmejal was born in the Algoma vacinity, Jan 20, 1885, son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Frank Cmejla. There were 10 children in the Cmejla family, so the deceased went to stay with an uncle and sunt, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gotstein, when four years old.At and early age he closed his school books and went to work at the Ahnapee Veneery and Sealing company, as the Algoma Plywood was called in its early days, and worked himself into a responsible position.June 5, 1907, Charles Cmejla and Miss Emma Guillaume were married in Lincoln and for many years lied on Perry street, spending the summers at the lakeshore cottage. Mrs. Cmejla suffered a heart attack recently and is confined to the Detjen home.Surviors Listed

!FORMER CASCO RESIDENT DIES;!ILL MANY YEARS!CASCO-Joseph Guillaume, sr., a prominent resident of Pound, died Thursday morning at his home, after having been seriously ill for several weeks.!Mr. Guillaume was 79 years old, having been born in Belgium on February 3, 1849. He came to American at the age of six years and settled at Casco, where he was united in marriage at Casco to Jennie Madoche, who died about eight years ago. Ten childern survive. He also leaves a brother, Frank Guillaume of Green Bay.!The deceased was stricken with paralysis seven years ago and since then he had been confined in a wheel-chair. He was seriously ill for the last few weeks, and all the members of his family were summoned to his bedside.!Funeral services were held Monday morning at ten-o-clock from St. Gencealaus Catholic church at Klondike. Rev. Father Bernard J. Heppa read the Mass for the dead. Serving at the altar were two Cmejla boys, grandson of the deceased. Gilliaume, Well Known in Kewaunee County Dies at Green Bay HospitalThe following under date of March 9th is clipped from the Klondike correspondence of the Marrinette Eagle Star, and refers to a former resident of this county:"The funeral of Mrs. Jos. Guilliaume, who died from complication of diseases at St. Vincent's Hospital, Green Bay, Sunday afternoon was held this A.M. at 10 o'clock from St. Wenceslaus church, Rev. Father DeVreese officiating. The choir of the Coleman Catholic church rendered the music during the mass. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery, a mile south of Klondike. Besides her many friends and relatives, Mrs. Gilliaume leaves to mourn her, the husband; daughters, Mrs. Charles Cmejla, Algoma; Mrs. J. Montfort, Menominee; Mrs. Van Driese, Mrs John Wendt, Mrs. Elmer Wendt, and Irene and Mollie at home and her three sons, John at home, George of Coleman and Joseph of Pelican Lake. All were present for the funeral as were also Messrs. Montfort and Cmejla. Others present from out of town were John Dewey, Casco; Joe Dewey, Peshtigo; nephews, Mrs. John Hoslet, Sturgeon Bay, sister, and Miss E.
