Dorothy Nickasch (1921 - 2012)Dorothy Nickasch, 90, Neenah, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Park View Health Center, Oshkosh. Dorothy was born on October 30, 1921, in Neenah, daughter of John and Catherine (McGuire) Kobinsky. On November 18, 1941, Dorothy was united in marriage to John J. Nickasch at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1992. Dorothy was a long time member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Neenah and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She loved life, friends, and especially appreciated time with her family and grandchildren. Whether it was hiking in the mountains in Arizona, baking Christmas cookies, watching them participate in sporting activities, sightseeing in Massachusetts, or attending a musical concert; she had fun whenever time was spent with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Grandma we miss you! She was also an avid Packer fan, both attending the games and in later years watching them on TV, always in her Packer attire! For many years she loved the many hours she volunteered at Theda Clark Hospital and the time spent at St. Joseph's Food Pantry. She also enjoyed looking back at all the fond memories of "the old neighborhood."Dorothy is missed dearly by her two daughters: Mary Ellen (Dale) Winkler, Neenah, and JoAnne (Bill) Eastwood, Chelmsford, MA; her two sons: Jim (Barbie) Nickasch, Willcox, AZ, and Jack (Julie) Nickasch, Hortonville; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter: a brother: John (Ruth) Kobinsky, Neenah; a sister-in-law: Elaine Kobinsky, Eau Claire. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and good friends.In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy is also preceded in death by a brother: Charles Kobinsky; and a brother-in-law: Leo (Verna) Nickasch.A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division Street, Neenah, with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Dorothy's name.Dorothy's family would like to extend a special thank you to Sheila and Marilyn at St. Margaret Mary for their many visits over the years. Also the family would like to thank the loving and compassionate staff on Praireside Two-North at PVHC for their TLC this past year. Words will never be enough for the gratitude we feel!

Georgia M. Kopetsky, 88, of 1816 Monroe St., Two Rivers, died Saturday morning, Jan. 1, 2011, at the Hamilton Care Center, Two Rivers.
Georgia was born June 14, 1922, in Antigo, daughter of the late Michael and Agnes (Noskowiak) Steber. On July 2, 1981, she married Stanley J. Kopetsky at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1998. Georgia enjoyed bowling, sewing and traveling. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the Two Rivers Senior Center, and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul.
Survivors include one stepdaughter and son-in-law: Jean and Robert Blahnik, Two Rivers; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law: Roseanne Kopetsky, Neenah; two sisters: Adeline Schultz; Caroline (Harold) Beck, both of Antigo; one brother: Ray (Lorraine) Steber; one sister-in-law: Betty Steber, both of Florence; cousin, companion and dear friend: Bernie Londo, Two Rivers. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one stepson, Paul Kopetsky; four sisters, one brother and three brothers-in-law.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau. Georgia will be laid to rest on Monday at Holy Cross Cemetery.

January 6, 2011MENOMINEE - Mary Alice Steber, 81, of Menominee passed away on Tuesday January 4, 2011.She was born on October 5, 1929 in Menominee to the late Stanley and Victoria (Chernetski) Springer. Mary Alice graduated from Menominee High School in 1949 and married Joseph Steber on October 30, 1950 at St. Adalbert's Church in Menominee. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2000. Mary Alice was a member of Resurrection Parish in Menominee, having served as a lector and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She also was a choir member for 40 years, taught faith formation and belonged to New Wine Prayer Group and Legion of Mary. Mary Alice enjoyed raising her family, gardening, sailing, choir, prayer and scripture study. She was also instrumental in getting EWTN placed on the local cable network.Mary Alice is survived by four sons: Msgr. Michael of Marquette, MI, Mark of Menominee, David (Mary) of Poughkeepsie, NY and Thomas (Linda) of Green Bay, WI; three grandchildren Christopher, Kyle and Lorelei. Along with her parents and husband Joseph, Mary Alice was preceded in death by a son, Joel and one brother, Norbert.Friends may call at the Lemieux-Thielen Funeral Home 1638 Tenth Ave Menominee, MI on Sunday January 9th from 4pm to 8pm with Parish Prayers being celebrated at 7pm. The visitation will continue on Monday at the funeral home from 9:30am to 10:30am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday January 10th at Resurrection Parish in Menominee at 11am with Msgr. Michael Steber and Reverend Robb Jurkovich concelebrating with Priests of the Diocese, Bishop Alexander K. Sample and Deacons in attendance. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Menominee.Mary Alice's family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at the Renaissance and Bay Area Medical Center ICU, especially Tanya, for their compassionate care.
