(LaChappelle) Blahnik. Jean attended Washington High School in Two Rivers and enjoyed the reunions with old classmates. On July 28, 1962 she married the late Jerry L. Bashaw and they had four children together. She fought and won a three year battle with cancer. On March 24, 1973 she married the love of her life, Joseph E. Blashka (Mr. Whoopie) in Manitowoc. Together they created a home that was always filled with life, love, friends and family (and really great food). Jean was employed at Mirro Aluminum Company, Manitowoc Ice Machine and retired from Federal Mogul in 2005. She loved to bowl and was a member of the Manitowoc Bowling League for many years.Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and true friend to many. She made time for anyone that needed her help and guidance. As the Dancing Queen, with her sidekick Mr. Whoopie, she led a fun and adventurous life that took her on trips around the States and we can't forget her yearly "getaway" with her "Booze Sisters" to Mexico; what stories she shared when she returned! She loved to walk with her dogs, all things purple, Avon, scrapbooking, card games, marathon games of Yahtzee and most of all she loved to DANCE ANYTIME ANYWHERE.Survivors include her husband of 40 years: Joseph E. Blashka; the four beautiful children they raised: Christine (Timothy) Beilfuss, Long Lake, WI, Cassandra Busse and special friend Billy Nienhaus, Terry Lea (Danny) Seal, Kit (Teresa) Bashaw, all of Manitowoc; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great great granddaughters; two brothers: James "Beetle" (Shirley) Blahnik, Robert (Jean) Blahnik, all of Two Rivers; one sister: Julie (Leon "Ding") Gauthier, Shoto, WI., and honorary sisters: Joanne McCloskey, West Allis, WI., Judy Zelenka, Green Bay, WI., and Linda Jonvin, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention also survive. In addition to her parents and ex-husband, she was preceded in death by her step-father: Earl Mandel; and her special friends: Kathy Wiechart, Sandra Zahn, Dora Pribek and John McCloskey. The family will greet relatives and friends for a Memorial Visitation at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 South 14th Street, Manitowoc, from 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013 until 12:45 p.m.The Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
