There was Vaclav Holub who married Anna Stankowsky. Together they had
Wenzel Vaclav Holub and he married Anna Dvorak.Wenzel and Anna had a son in Bohemia named Jan who was born in 1841 and
died in1848 at the age of 7. They immigrated to the United States on 30
November 1855 and landed at New Orleans aboard the Ernst Moritz Arndt.
They brought with them their first born daughter Anna, who was born in
1851 and their second born son Matej ( Matthew ) who was born in 1853.
They traveled to Wisconsin and settled in the Carlton / Kewaunee area.
There they had three additional children. They were Wenzel Vaclav,Jr. b.
1857 Mary b. 1862, and Joseph b. 1866 for a total of six children.Joseph was my Grandfather, hence I know his family very well. He married
Katie Mainz and they had five children. They were Marie who had no
children, Anthony who had two children named Alois and Arlene, Ernest
who had two children Raymond and Ernest, Jeanette who had two daughters
Gloria and Betty and my father who had three children who were Lola,
Marjorie and myself, William Jr.
I am extremely familiar with the Anna Holub Albrecht family tree. She
had eleven children. I believe I know the Vaclav Wenzel Holub Jr.
family tree fairly well also as well as the Anton Holub family.I know least of Mary Holub and this may be your connection to the
family. All I do know of Mary Holub is that she was the third wife of a
John Libal. I know nothing else. I will have to get into this much
deeper. However, going back to Wenzel Vaclav Holub, Jr., this is what I do know.He first married Mary Cerny or Cherney. I believe they had six children.
They were Ben, Anna, Joseph, Emil, Milos and Edward. Mary Cerny died and
Wenzel Vaclav Jr. married Barbara Tesar. I know that they had no
children. I also know that this marriage was the second marriage for
Barbara Tesar also. There is a possibility that her maiden name could
well have been Cerny, a sister to Mary.Ben never married and died relatively young.Anna never married and died young.Joseph Holub married a Marie ________ and had three sons, Richard,
Thomas and Robert.Emil I know little aboutEdward married Mildred Blahnik and together they had one son Edmund who
today lives in Arizona.
Mildred later married Monte Potter.Milos Harry Holub married Agnes Louise Hendrych. They had four children.
They were Edward, Bohumil, Frank and Jean.Edward married Joyce Smith. They have a family but I do not know how
many.Bohumil married Ruth F. Eastwood. Together they had Dianne who married
Zachary Klaus, Eric who married Carolyn Young and Rebecca Holub who has
never married.Frank Holub never married and lives in Arlington,Virginia.Jean Marie who married Paul Straka and they had three children. They are
Aaron, Douglas and David. This is all I can find and I hope that it helps you a little. I do know
however that as you had it, it does not fit. Please let me have your thoughts.Sincerely,Bill Holub
======================
3/31/01
Vaclav Wenzel Holub and Anna Dvorak had a daughter named Mary. She
married a John Sebal. Mary was born in about 1862 in Carlton, Kewaunee,
Wis.. She died in 1894. She only attained the age of 32 years. I have no
record of her ever having any children. She may have married a second
time but I doubt that. The only tie I know of to the Blahnik family is through Mildred Blank,
daughter of Anton James Blahnik and Bozena Ouradnik. This Anton Blahnik
was the son of Joseph Blahnik and his second wife Anna Selner. Joseph
Blahnik was the son of George Blahnik and Katherine Blaha. Mildred
Blahnik married Edward Holub, son of Vaclav Wenzel Holub Jr. and Mary
Cerney. Mildred and Edward Holub had one child, a son by the name of
Edmund, who lives in Tucson, Ariz.A Mary Holub did indeed marry Frank Blahnik, son of George Blahnik and
Anna Sticka. This Frank Holub was a brother to the Joseph Blahnik
mentioned here in.The elusive problem is that we can find no Mary or Marie Holub in our
Holub's that was that Mary or Marie Holub. Now there is yet another possibility. Vaclav Wenzel Holub had a brother
Anton. He married a Durst but we can find no other information. They may
have had children and one of them might have been a Mary or Marie but I
do not think so. We found one daughter and she would not have carried
the family name of Holub forward had she married, let alone had
children. Vaclav Wenzel Holub Sr. may have had other brothers, and they
other children. I just don't know at this time.Does this help you straighten out the line between the Holub's and the
Blahnik? If you have any other questions, please ask.I am very tight on the Blahnik family because of the Mildred Blahnik
marriage but also because one of my very best friends was a Blahnik. He
passed away in 1998.Sincerely,Bill Holub
