Pelnar June Lillian Anna [Female] b. --Not Shown-- Carlton Twp., Kewaunee Co., Wis

BIOGRAPHY: Letter written by June Konop on Nov 22, 1996 and mailed on January 23, 1997.
I was also a Pelnar. My cousin Mayme Paull was recently put into a home in Kewaunee at age 90. Since she had no children, a niece was named as Guardian and Executee and she was looking through her papers as she was cleaning. She came across your letter and she brought it to me along with many pictures and other things. We had quite an afternoon trying to figure out the people in the pictures. Mayme Paull didn't believe in writing names on the pictures. Your line of descendants are correct. I have a Sister-in-law who did our family history. She is Mrs. Emil Pelnar, 8508 Town Hall Rd., N.W., Byron, Minnesota 55920, Tel 1-507-775-2678. (She goes on to verify information in the letter I sent Mayme.)
Information from "Herb" Pelnar: At age 15 June moved into town to live with her sister Amy and family while she worked at Lufter's Restaurant for $5 a week. That is where she met Buck. She remembers Momma paying $2.98 for her Sunday coat when she was in 8th grade. Once she got 3 new dresses for a dollar on a sale. June was baptised in the Catholic faith (same as her husband) in 1947 at St. Lawrence church in Stangelville, Wisconsin.
Occupation: Homemaker

Title: obituary

Obituary collected by Bob BlahnikSwagel, David Joseph
August 13, 2010
David Joseph Swagel, 90, finally gave up the fight with Parkinson's disease and passed away in the loving arms of his wife, Gracie on Aug. 11, 2010.Dave was born Jan. 16, 1920, to the late Antone and Martha (Pelnar) Swagel in Kewaunee, Wis. He spent his years growing up in Krok with his grandparents. He graduated from Kewaunee H.S. in 1938. He attended all of his many, many class reunions.
He married Wilma Lehrmann on June 7, 1941; she preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 1986. They owned Pretty View Dairy Farm. Dave was a farmer through and through and he enjoyed it and worked hard at it. Even having a little fun on the side with the "boys" like boating, hunting and playing jokes on people. In 1959, they sold the farm and bought the Packer City Motel. He then built the Golden Bowl in 1965. The Golden Bowl provided many years of hard work fun and good times for him and his family. On Dec. 14, 1988, Dave married Gracie Fedler in Kaui, Hawaii. They built a beautiful home with ponds in Bellevue. Dave again brought the farmer boy in him, out again. He furnished many people in vegetables, fruits and pumpkins until the last years when his health started failing him. He got his grandson-in-law, Dave "Kahuna" and great- grandson, Austin into gardening. His shed is full of his many "toys", old tractors, cars, back hoe and many types of gardening tools. Gracie and Dave own a home in Sun City Center, Fla. They enjoyed many winters and friends there. They were great polka dancers and skip-bo players. As usual, Dave was the clown and up to his practical jokes most of the time. Dave liked to have fun and good times.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gracie; "favorite" daughter, Louanne (Chuck) Kuzmic; daughter-in-law, Linda Swagel; four grandchildren, Keele Curtis, Korre (Dave) Reynen, Jodi Swagel and Chad Swagel; four great-grandchildren, Amber and Austin Curtis, Jaida Reynen and Ainadi Swagel; step-children, Roger and Rick Fedler; and step-grandchildren, Desiray and Cheyenne Fedler; brother, Leonard; sisters-in-law, Phyllis, Pat and Dolores Swagel; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Roger Hensel, Henry (Carol) Hensel, June (Don) Anderson, Dennis (Wendy) Hensel, Eugene (Jane) Lehrmann; nieces, nephews, cousins and god children; many friends from Kewaunee, (Herman Draeger, George Graff and Tony Schlise.) Green Bay (Elmer Loppnow, fishing buddy), and special friends, Jerry (Sharon) Hart and Bob (Nancy) Lonsinger from Sun City Center.
(2 of 2) He was preceded in death by his only son, David L. Swagel on Oct. 19, 2008; parents; first wife; sister, Lorraine Taylor; brothers, Harvey, Antone, Lyman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Russell Taylor, Henry and Grace Lehrmann and Sharon Hensel.Friends may call at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 S.
