OBITUARY for MARY (BLAHNIK) HUCEK
Mrs.
Frank Hucek, Sr. 72 Forestville died at the Algoma Memorial Hospital at 4:45
this Thursday morning. Her death was caused by a stroke which she suffered
two days before. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8
o'clock at the Weisner Massart Funeral Home in Algoma and at 9 o'clock at the St
Hubert's Church in Rosiere. The Rev. Henry E. Zellinske will officiate and
burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Algoma. The rosary will be prayed
to-night at 8 o'clock at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hucek was the former Mary Blahnik, was born in the town of Ahnapee, Oct.
13, 1881, and attended the Kodan school. Her marriage to Frank Hucek was
performed in St. Mary's church Mary 29, 1907 and the couple farmed in the
Forestville area retiring 12 years ago. Survivors are the husband and
three sons Marvin, Lloyd and Frank of Forestville and one daughter Mrs. John
(Helen) Rohr Sturgeon Bay, WI. Also by three brothers, Charles of Kodan,
Emil of Algoma, and Louis, Ewen Michigan and 11 grandchildren.

OBITUARY for FRANK HUCEK, Sr.
Frank Hucek Sr. 79 whose 30 years of service as a rural mail carrier made him
well known through this area. He died at 8:15 Sunday evening at the Algoma
Memorial hospital. He was brought to the Hospital after suffering a stroke
at his home Saturday night, he had not been in ill health previously.
Wednesday morning the casket was taken from the Weisner Massart Funeral home in
Algoma to St. Hubert's Catholic Church in Rosiere where Rev. Henry Zelinske
officiated at final rites. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery at Algoma.
Mr. Hucek was a native of Brussels where he was born on Sept. 1, 1880. He
began as a rural mail carrier out of the Forestville office as a young man and
after his retirement from the postal service 25 years ago, he operated a small
farm just outside of Forestville village. He left the farm about 15 years
ago and then lived in the Forestville Village. Mrs. Hucek, the former Mary
Blahnik, whom he married at St. Mary's Church in Algoma in 1907 died May 13,
1954
Survivors are a daughter Mrs. John (Helen) Rohr Forestville, with whom he made
his home at the time of his death, and three sons; Marvin, Lloyd and Frank Jr.,
all of Forestville; 18 grandchildren; a brother John Hucek of Algoma and a
sister Mrs. Jacob Kotichka of East Maplewoo.
