1. FRIDRICH1 BLAHNIK1 was born Abt. 1738 in estimate from death record (check if could be Frantisek (XII7)2, and died August 12, 1801 in #56 Kout (lived Kout 33) Bohemia2,3. He married (1) KATHARINA UNKNOWN3 October 23, 1759 in Kout (Kdyne) Bohemia4. She was born Abt. 17345, and died April 23, 1772 in Kout #33, Cz6,7. He married (2) MAGDALENA GIEZDA OR HWIEZDA July 03, 1775 in Kolovec8, daughter of JOHANN HWIEZDA. She was born Abt. 1750 in from Kolvec (Kolovec)9.

Fridrich (Fridericus, Bedrich) Blahnik born about
1738. He married two time. His first wife was Katharina unknown
surname. This first wedding was before 1769 because Fridrich with
his wife Katharina are recorded 1769 as godparents of Katharina
Apfelbeck. I found one child born in this first marriage - Magdalena
born 16th Apr 1772. Katharina died 7 days after daughter's birth -
23rd Apr 1772 by some epidemic.
Fridrich married again 3rd Jul 1775 in Kolovec to Magdalena daughter
of Johann Hwezda. I found 5 children from this marriage - Eva 1776,
Jakob 1777, Jakob 1779, Anna Marie 1781 and Magdalena 1784. Fridrich
Blahnik died 12th Aug 1801 in Kout 63 years old. (Research Jon Blahnik  - Tony Knodrys)

Jan (1813) married 1841 to Maria Neidl. They had 6 children. Jan was
the smith in Radonice village.
Katharina married 1836 to Lorenz Kraus. I know about their 2 child -

Jakub was at first daylabourer in manor's estate in Novy Dvur. Later
he owned the house number 5 in Novy Dvur - (not Nova Ves as I wrote in

Wenceslas Blahnik 1848- 1924  & Anna Tic/Ditz/Dietz

Jon P. Blahnik is a descendent of Wencel and Anna.  He contacted Joel Blahnik and Michael Cwach to research the family of origin for Wenzel in the Czech Republic.  Michael did basic research and connected Jon with genealogist,  Tony Knodrys  in Czech.  He commissioned Tony to search records for his family and was able to track two generations back from Wenzel to Nova Ves - Kout # 5 in the "Blahnik Pocket". Jon has paid for this research and we are grateful he is sharing it for all Blahniks.

Josef Blahnik and his wife came to America and settled in New York.  Josef must have arrived first as his wife came to America in 1891 with three of their kids.  The oldest was 24 and the youngest was 7 years old. Some of the family used the last name Blacknik or Blachnik.

Lillian M. Swagel, 98, Kewaunee died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Linden Manor in Kewaunee. She was born Oct. 20, 1911 in the Town of Carlton to the late Wenzel and Mary (Younger) Blahnik.
She married George F. Swagel June 24, 1930 and he preceded her in death March 10, 1977. She and her husband farmed in West Kewaunee all of their lives until retiring.
Lillian was member of St. John Church at Krok and now Holy Rosary Church in Kewaunee. She was a member of St. John's Rosary Society, the Kewaunee Senior Citizens and the Golden Tones. She loved to play the button accordion and playing sheepshead cards.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: George A. and Mae Swagel; Ray and Betty Swagel all of Kewaunee; nine grandchildren: Kathy Swagel; Geri (Steve) Bacheller; Joan (Glen) Wallace; Joseph Swagel; William Swagel; Milton Swagel; James (Tammy) Swagel; Michael Swagel and Barb (Rick) Meister; eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson: Nathan Swagel; two brothers: James (Emma) Blahnik; Ed (Sybil) Blahnik and one sister: Julia (Anton) Kalcik.
